Annamaria La Rosa, 23, from Capo d’Orlando, won the Miss Sorriso Sicily crown and sash in the test that took place, under the direction of regional agent Salvo Consiglio, at the Nino Croce municipal theater in Valderice .

The Miss Italy pageant could become the launching pad for her. This is her first participation and she immediately won the pass to the national prefinal. She loves sports and she played basketball competitively until she moved to Rome to pursue her artistic dream.
During the evening, a selection stage was previously held in the regional phase, won by twenty-one-year-old Anastasia Pellegrino from Santa Margherita Belize, who won the crown and the Miss Valderice sash. In addition to Anastasia, five other girls qualified for the Regionals: Federica Miceli, 25, from Trapani, Miss Rocchetta Bellezza, and then Celeste Russo, 19, from Sciacca, Giulia Badalucco, 18, from Termini Imerese, Simona Sansone , 18, from Monreale, and Irene Guarano, 19, also from Trapani.

Irene Guarano is another student at La Sapienza University in Rome, she is studying modern literature and loves playing sports and dancing. Giulia Badalucco will attend the last year of Hospitality in September, she has chosen the direction of Hospitality because she believes that it can offer many job opportunities and, in fact, she has already started an internship contract in a hotel in Cefalù.
Particular is the story of Simona Sansone, who had never participated in Miss Italy and agreed to the Regionals in the first attempt. “I have to thank everyone, the staff and the other girls, for helping me get over any shyness,” she says. Simona graduated from the Rutelli Institute in Palermo, a tourist town, and is now pursuing a degree in Linguistic Mediation, with an emphasis on English, Chinese and Spanish. Competition? “I felt a bit insecure because it was the first time, but I was aware that I was only here to have fun, to get involved. I like Miss Italy, because she looks at beauty and not measurements, so much so that she also created the section With curves. A girl is beautiful if she fits into her body.’ Simona had to work hard to accept herself. She practiced taekwondo for ten years, «which taught me discipline and above all helped me overcome the difficult relationship with my body. I have been bullied in the past and this made me like him and face the problem with a smile. Now I help others who have the same difficulties.”
Headlining the evening was Antonello Consiglio and Giada Rumè, Miss Sicily 2021, who repeatedly reiterated that she would still like to be in the running.
